#cheat2win In the New Trump Party
It could probably be said that the whole 2016 Presidential Election was rife with cheating.  Even worse than the 2000 Fiasco, in which the ending was essentially determined by the United States Supreme Court.
No, 2016 was far, far worse than 2000.  In addition to the dirty tricks on behalf of disgraceful Senator Ted Cruz, the original #cheat2win player, and the almost-blatant favoritism on behalf of the Democratic Party in favor of their entitled candidate, Hillary Clinton, there was also the dirty tricks from Russia, not only hacking the DNC server to expose said favoritism, but also in cyberspace ads and other means to spread lies and paranoia in favor of our current White House inhabitant and despot, Narcissist President Donald Trump.
We cannot erase that election, as much as some of us would like to, any more than the white supremacists could erase the 2008 election of President Barack Obama, or the liberals could erase the 2000 Fiasco.  Those events are permanent in America’s history.  All we can do is move forward and try to make sure it doesn’t happen again in any similar variation.
Except… that may just happen for 2020.
Let’s start with the effort to secure the 2020 elections.  The same political party that screams “voter fraud” at the top of their lungs is currently blocking any and all efforts to secure the upcoming elections from outside interference.  Bill have been passed in the House of Representatives to secure the rights of Americans not only to vote but to have their vote be counted and not changed by Russia or other outside influences.  But those bills are not being taken up in the United States Senate because of just one person: Senate Majority Leader and perpetual turtle-dick Mitch the Bitch McConnell.  Senator Mitch the Bitch refuses to allow any such bill be considered.  Not in committees, not on the Senate floor.  Not from the House, not by a mouse.
But it’s not just him.  GOP leaders in state and local legislative bodies are also putting up resistance from having the election machines changed to provide paper ballots even as a printout that voters can use to verify their votes.  Even a paper receipt would reassure voters that their votes were cast accordingly, but the GOP leaders aren’t eager to see that happen.
It makes one wonder if the hysterical screaming of “voter fraud” by the GOP is either illegitimate or an ongoing admission of criminal guilt.
But it is more than just the fear of election manipulation that we should be concerned about.
In 2016, leaders of the Democratic National Committee were exposed choosing sides, giving subtle favors towards their “preferred” candidate, Hillary Clinton, over other challengers such as Senator Bernie Sanders.  This in-house favoritism was originally suspected, but later verified when their party’s servers were hacked and exposed by Russian operatives.  The DNC was biased in favor of Clinton, and that manipulation undermined the legitimacy of her nomination and gave credence to Narcissist Trump’s name-calling of “Crooked Hillary”.
But what the GOP is doing even now for the 2020 election is far worse.
Up until this election, the argument was always made that if you didn’t like your politician, you could vote them out.  If electing someone from another party is abhorrent, then you “primary” the incumbent, by voting them out during the primary/caucus process in favor of another candidate.
If you’re a conservative member of the GOP and you don’t want to vote for Narcissist Trump in November of 2020, then you “primary” him.  You vote for any of his several challengers within the GOP, and, if you get enough votes, then Narcissist Trump loses the primary or caucus support of that state.  Enough states doing that means that Narcissist Trump doesn’t become the 2020 nominee.  Your party’s honor and worth get restored.
Unfortunately, you may not have that choice within the GOP.
Several state GOP leaders are cancelling their primaries and caucuses for the 2020 Election, handing their respective state nominations over to Narcissist Trump.  If you wanted to choose anyone but Narcissist Trump in those states, you will be out of luck.
Now, it would be understandable to cancel those primaries and caucuses if there were no challengers to Narcissist Trump.  Why waste time and effort on a single nominee?
However, there are GOP challengers to Narcissist Trump.  Three of them.  Former congressmen Mark Sanford and Joe Walsh, and former Massachusetts Governor William Weld.  And the first two supported and endorsed Narcissist Trump in 2016.  But now they all want Narcissist Trump off the ticket.  These aren’t “Never Trumpers”, but people who have seen what Narcissist Trump has been doing and do not want him to be the face of the GOP moving forward.
So why not let the GOP voters have that choice?  Why not let the voters choose whether or not they would stay with Narcissist Trump or select someone else who better matches their views?
I would imagine if there was any other person in the White House, this would not be an issue.  If it was any other individual in the White House looking for a second term, the GOP bosses would allow the challengers their chance to prove their worth, for all the good it would do them.
But this is not the GOP that this commentator used to be a card-carrying member of.  This is the party run by a self-centered self-righteous narcissistic self-admitted nationalist with an eggshell ego and delusions of grandeur.  An orange-stained prima donna who demands absolute fidelity and absolute loyalty and absolute idol worship of his very existence from all he sees.  Someone who sees an in-party challenger as a traitor not just to him, not just to the party, but to the whole country.
So, of course, the GOP bosses do not want anyone to challenge Narcissist Trump.  They don’t want anything to threaten him, because that affects *his* base, which used to be theirs.  The fawning red-hat gaggle of white supremacists and Christian supremacists and the rest of the sorry lot that have sold their collective souls to follow the orange-stained narcissist straight to hell.  Because that is all that is left of the party that used to be theirs.
#cheat2win is not just a tactic to them.  #cheat2win is the only way they can survive.
Let’s get brutally honest here... there is no GOP anymore.  There is no Republican Party anymore.  It ceased to exist in 2016.  It has been absorbed in a takeover by the brand called Trump.  This is now Narcissist Trump’s Party.  This is the Trump Party.  It exists and operates now for his benefit and it survives through his base.  Any pretense of it being a separate entity from Narcissist Trump pretty much ended when the party leaders moved to eliminate any challengers to his reign.
We need only look at the demise of the Reform Party to see the folly of a political party dedicated to one person.  The late businessman H. Ross Perot had assimilated his own party so he could use it to run for President in the 1990’s.  At one point, he was considered a serious challenger for the White House, and he believed the Reform Party bring far more change to the political system.  The Reform Party even managed to put Jesse Ventura into the Minnesota Governor’s Mansion.  But it lost all credibility when Perot declared himself the party’s nominee for the White House in 1996, essentially negating the efforts of all those running for that position.  The fact that nobody ever heard of the Reform Party afterward shows just how quickly a party dedicated to one person can self-destruct quickly.
Such could very well also be the fate of the new Trump Party when their self-appointed messiah is no longer in power.  Not “if”, but “when”.
